Ever since the company was established we have been ‘Thinking About Tomorrow, Today’. Topman Construction seeks to lead the field in sustainable construction and has effective policies in place to ensure that social awareness and environmental responsibility are central to our design and project delivery processes.
We go much further than simply ticking boxes to comply with regulations. Our staff proactively looks for ways to make a positive difference to communities through the way we shape their environments and by the building methods, materials and energy sources we use.
Ultimately we believe that changing attitudes will be the long-term driver of sustainability. Through on-going training and by adding more and more examples of innovative, responsible and successful projects to our portfolio we hope to inspire both our staff and others in the industry to make sustainability an every-day consideration and a catalyst for business growth.
All our Site Managers attend Environmental Awareness and Site Waste Management Training. Our first priority is to eliminate the production of waste and minimize any hazardous material. By implementing a ‘Site Waste Management Plan’ and appointing a ‘Waste Champion’ on our key projects, we proactively eliminate waste and packaging.
We have a partnering arrangement with a Waste Management Provider who produce monthly KPI reports on all our site waste production. We are achieving up to 98% waste recycling of site materials, through a range of innovative recycling schemes.
We are a member of WRAP, which ensures we receive regular advice and guidance on updated regulations; ensuring best practice is obtained regarding recycling on and off-site and how best to procure recyclable or recycled materials.
We are registered to Net Regulations ‘Envirowise’ and the BRE and obtain regular updates on changes to legislation and trends.
