The health, safety and wellbeing of our people and the people in the communities in which we work is embedded in our business. We’ve put systems, reporting procedures and various communication initiatives in place which constantly reinforce our emphasis on safety. They’re all designed around our safety management system.
We’ve developed our Health & Safety policy and manual to guide our employees through our safety procedures, and we make sure safety remains front-centre in people’s minds using quizzes, information updates, internal awards and work place audits.
Of greatest importance is the attitude of Topman Construction, from top to bottom, have for their own health & safety, that of their colleagues and the public in general. We’re working at creating a culture of safety, where nothing is taken for granted – we’re only as good as the last day on site.
We run regular safety campaigns to raise awareness within our staff and to ensure that we are never complacent.
But we’re not resting on our laurels – continued safety needs continuous attention. So over the next year we are focusing on ensuring that our line managers’ actions and behaviors demonstrate that they care for and are actively managing the safety of their teams, with our safety managers and advisors supporting them with regular coaching and learning opportunities.
